Mrs. Alicia
Growing up Alicia had always wanted to learn to swim. Unfortunately, her parents never took her to swim classes and there were times she was left out of certain activities because she didn’t know how to swim. Believe it or not, she learned how to swim in college because she took classes. She was the hardest student to work with. Just put it this way, she did NOT like getting water in her eyes (so she HAD to wear goggles), she did NOT like putting her head under water nor did she trust her instructor to help her float (she didn’t trust ANYONE). Yeah, she was a scaredy cat! BUT her determination helped her conquer her fear! Once she learned, she fell in love with swimming and it wasn’t just swimming, she actually learned the proper strokes. Thereafter, she knew she would some day teach although at the time she didn’t know where or how it would happen. And now here she is, an instructor at Lucky Duck! She loves to teach swimming! Her experience is what helps her relate to students especially those who are scared.
